We are a couple of Losers....

..... and I know some who would agree with this, but I'm talking about George and my Wrecking experience of the day!

I was planning to lose mine in a river - but its much to cold to go pond-dipping, so I opted for a cleaner experience to 'Finish' mine off!

I dont feed my kids, so George fancied a snack!

New Year Wrecking (with apologies to Netty! )

At last I have found a use for the 'scratchy tool' I bought to use with Stampboard - I think I may be the only person in the world to dislike Stampboard - perhaps 2011 should be the year that I try to love it.

Anyway - welcome to 2011. - 2010 is so last year

Yep I scribbled with reckless abandon - just like a toddler will do whilst they are at that stage of life where they are allowed to be completely free with 'art' before they start believing (cos they are told) that art HAS to be good, and if it isn't then you shouldn't do it. How sad it is that many people give up being creative at a very young age because 'they aren't good enough' regardless of whether or not they enjoy it. That's why I am enjoying Wrecking and journalling as w hole, because it is very free and no-one but no-one has to like it but me! I have huge regrets that it took me until I was in my forties to learn this very simple fact!

Art should be shared....

But I have found someone totally copying some of my stuff (why they would want to heaven knows) and claiming it as their own inspiration... so while I find it a complete honour for people to gain a little inspiration from my tat, please be honest.
We all get ideas from other artists, thats how the art world flourishes, but please note that all artwork, photos and text on this blog are mine. I am more than happy for you to take inspiration from my work, but please do not attempt to copy or reproduce it without crediting the original idea to me.

while i think there is a place for most things at some time or other...I do dislike peel-offs with 99% of my being, but and this is a BIG but there is the odd and very odd occasion that they can be used without being too offensive (boy that hurt, it was almost an admission that i have used them)
Book-a-trix... sorry but they do look like memorial stones and nothing anybody says will convince me otherwise.
Decoupage..... I am sure the Victorians are turning in their graves

WHAT ARE ATC'S??? Artist Trading Cards

Miniature works of art created on cards have been around for centuries, largely used as business cards. The modern-day concept of ATCs was conceptualized by artist M.vanci stirnrmenn in 1996, an idea born of older sports themed trading cards, and became a movement that denounced the tradition of critiquing and appraising art, and embraced the process of one artist connecting with another and exchanging styles and techniques.
ATC are art collectables but the one rule that makes an ATC derive from their origins: the dimensions of the ATC must be 2.5"x3.5", or 64x89mm.
To this rule are appended a couple of conventions. First, an ATC mustn't be sold, only exchanged, as the whole essence of these tiny works of art is about artists meeting in person, by correspondence, online etc and exchanging their works, thus getting exposed to and experiencing many personal styles and techniques. Second, on the back of each ATC the artist writes part or all of the following information: name, contact information, title of the ATC and number (i.e. if it's a one off original or part of a series).
