Twice In One Day!!

Well the plan for today was to do a bit of washing... went to laundry basket to find it had magically been filled overnight I was sure it was empty yesterday! - SHOCK........... Kids had tidied their Bedrooms. HORROR..... This resulted in a load more washing!

Plan 2; Do the Ironing. Well that hasn't happened.

Plan 3; Attempt some altered bottletop charms for a challenge I am taking part in. Well I tried, honest I did, I flattened, I removed plastic bits, I made holes, I ran out of inspiration.

OK onto Plan 4; Prepare food for tonight's dinner... forgot to take meat out of freezer last night... that's OK , Lentil Roast prepared instead, that will keep meat hating DD happy.

Plan 5; Continue with the Altered Abacus I started at the beginning of the year.... yeah sommat has gone OK cos it went to plan (well almost) and is now finished. Not bad, I planned on it taking most of the year as I wanted to do it bit by bit as and when I had time and inspiration to do another bit. It's June tomorrow and it's finished and I am happy with it so all is well in Nicks world.

It doesn't really take much to make me happy... take a look at these two beauties! Playing around with a pasta machine, some clay and some leaves. Heidi uses alot of leaves with her silver work and silver clay, so I thought I'd have a play with my polymer clay. Just ran the leaves through the pasta machine along with the clay and then highlighted the clay with some mica pigments. As they are so thin they will go into my altered book as they are only the thickness of a stiff card. One uses a rose leaf from a rose OH brought in from the garden for me, and the other is a lily leaf and some gypsophilia that came in a bouquet recently sent to me from Mrs Bessie.... cool eh??? they look groovy and are a bit of personal memorabilia, well I'm happy LOL!!

Evidence that I have actually been busy.....

Here are a few bits and pieces that I have made as Christmas pressies for people, for obvious reasons I haven't been able to upload them before!

Firstly Box number 25 of the Advent Calendar, which couldn't be opened until the keys were obtained from an altered keyring which was in Box number 24 but I think there was some severe cheating going on, cos this seemed to have opened on Christmas eve......

Anyway, it's made of silver clay and silver wire and silver beads. I think it looks a bit better in real life, think I need a lesson in photography!

Wine Boxes seem to be the Christmas gift of the year if you look at Heidi's and Katherine's blogs, fortunately we don't share too many friends LOL. But here is the one I made for some very dear friends called Chris and Len, hence the CL at the top...... geddit?? cl ... wine??? Well I thought it was clever LOL

Then finally a couple of 'book' clocks, I found these neat 'book' boxes a while ago and decided to turn them into clocks. These are both much the same but taken at slightly different angles.

And finally, my favourite picture of Christmas 2008, my lovely, lovely non techno (bah humbug computer games, buy them a board game) Daddy, thoroughly enjoying playing on the kids new Wii.....

Silver clay.... now this stuff is fun!!

YOUR CREATIVE JOURNEY workshops is Silver Clay by HEIDI. Heidi came over to teach me and my friend how to use this fantastic stuff the other day and here is my attempt. For anyone who is unsure what silver clay is, you start with a small lump of what looks like ordinary clay. You then fashion it into whatever you like, pop it in the oven to dry a bit then heat it with a blowtorch and hey presto you have a piece of silver which can be hallmarked. Sounds too good to be true?? It is too good but also true! OK my first attempt did look like a raspberry with a phallic symbol on it, but I re-kneaded it and ended up with this pendant which I am very happy with.

My less crafty friend joined us as well, under H's expert tuition she also produced a stunning necklace .

Not bad for our first attempts I think you will agree!
