- Hi there, I am a 50 something stay at home mother to two adorable (sometimes) kids and wife to an adorable (sometimes) man,servant to a Chocolate Lab. I try to run an organised home but get waylaid by an arty project, but hey when I'm dead people will remember that I was covered in paint rather than my house has a fine layer of dust. As long as we have clean clothes to wear,food to eat and clean toilets I feel I can be free to get messy with paint. Apart from my family I love my small circle of special friends and wide circle of acquaintances, I have no time for petty, silly, rude people. SOH - wicked, Legs - short, waistline - bit too big Red wine makes me feel suicidal so stick to Beer.. Roles in life? Mother, Wife Daughter, Sister, Friend, Mate, Cook, Cleaner, Dental Nurse, Pretend Artist, School Governor,Blogger... I love Daffodils, Bendicks Bittermints, Copper, bits of what other people may think of as Tat,0ur Trailer Tent, My lappy, Bargains, , laughing, my bed, getting up (yep i'm weird) McCoys Crisps, Roast Dinners, Imperial Leather soap, Hardware shops, Rod Stewart, James Stewart, Clarence Frogman Henry, Warm Socks, Coming Home.

That's not actually the name of the ATC, but I never got a return for this 1:1 swap...... perhaps the chap from Ireland didn't like it, perhaps he had personal problems that prevented him from making me an ATC, perhaps it got lost in the post, or perhaps he was just too rude and too lazy to make one!

ATC size, I stuck bits of friendly plastic onto a piece of mountboard and then heated it, swirled it around, stamped into it (ink your stamp first with versamark or similar and don't worry it won't damage your stamp) added beads and hey presto

paint on that acrylic paint and dry with your heat gun... fab effect! I love the way the paint has bubbled and looks like one of the faces has a hood on it's head

my first attempt at calligraphy.. well you have to try everything!

This one was cut along the spine and then rejoined with a piece of plasterboard tape (much cheaper than buyng Magic mesh!). The extra depth was needed to allow an false 'box' to be put in filled with bits and pieces) The theme the mailer was 'look and you shall see'

A pressie for my best mate.... (she knows who she is cos she has got the clock LOL) The 'numbers' tell her what she should be doing ie. Eating, getting up, going to bed and crafting, but as my son pointed out, most of them say 'crafting' Allsorts of paints, embossing powders and goodness know what else were thrown at this

I love using metal in my work, here it is freestyle embossed and backed with a calendar from an old Pears Cyclopedia

made for a hosted swap, the 'person' is an inkblot image with added elements, the words are from a song written by my boss. The Rabbit is 'late late for a very important date'

whatever will you find. I love working with metal, as a child I used to fiddle with some pewter that my mum had, she played with loads of different stuff, must be where I get it from. I forgot all about it until I went on a Ten Seconds Studio course. Metal is such great fun, doodle, emboss, use stencils, whatever you fancy. Can be fiddly and takes patience but is very relaxing.
Yes it is. I have to go now and put it all away, will probably take me an hour at least. I've just sat and looked at all this wonderful work - I feel exhausted - where do you get the time, never mind the ideas!! Inspring.

Love your book Nicks, I called mine 'This and That' - sort of fits in with your 'Why'. Also what's wrong with your craft space - I've got one very similiar.
