Someday, the altered art you make today will be
old, faded, falling apart, and someone else will salvage the bits and use them
in new altered art. It's the best that any piece of art can hope for

Been Neglecting the journal

Started with all good intentions of adding to my journal often (in fact that was one of my self imposed rules on the first page of my book) but got caught up with life and other projects, but then the January edition of The Craft Stamper arrived and although I have only has a quick flick through, the Calendar Journal project by Kate Crane (who first inspired me to start journalling) caught my eye. So I had a quick play yesterday and came up with this page, got more ideas for the rest of the year , but I was in the mood and only had time for a quick play.

Now even I can manage to write a sentence or two - can't I?? Its not a matter of time, its a matter of discipline!

Anyone else suddenly in panic mode with the realisation Christmas isn't very far away??

Made the first mark...

In my new Moleskine journal ... well if the truth be known I have made several marks and this has been painted over! Inspired by Suzi Blu's journalling and very refreshing view on 'art' I was determined not to rip the pages out when the first draft was - well awful!
You may say this isn't much better, maybe its not but this journal is for me and me alone. Not sure I will be sharing all of the pages as I do them, they may be a bit personal, I don't know yet - but as a friend, who has also recently taken delivery of a moleskine -said this is for 'my head space'
So this is page one, and my rules for my journal. How it will evolve, I don't know yet, but I am determined it will evolve. Throughout my life I have half heartedly started and then never got past a few entries, diaries/journals - oh all those memories, thoughts and experiences have now been forgotten!

I'm no 'artist' as you can tell by my 'self portrait' but does it matter? Nope !

So complete with rules. 'cup stains' (hey I once saw a commercial stamp so you could make cup marks on your paper... why would anyone want to buy one when we all have cups/mugs that you can stamp with ) and coffee stains - I didn't actually spill my drink, its supposed to be symbolic - OMG I sound like an artist :LOL
I posted a you tube link to the wonderfully eccentric Suzi Blu a few posts down, take a look, she will free your soul!

Happy Halloween to you all - here is my Ghoul who sulked cos he didn't look scary enough - he'll sulk more when he gets home and realises it has to be washed off LOL

Journal Time and Random Thoughts

Tidied the craft room yesterday, always a bad move, because when everything is neat and tidy I don't know what to do or where to start. But I decided to mess it all up again with Claudine's paints and do a page for my journal. I have been following Kate Crane's 3 part Tutorial in Craft Stamper and have also just taken delivery of a book called 'Journal Spilling' It's an interesting challenge, to try and realise and remember that no one has to see, let alone like or approve of what you are doing. With this is mind I gave myself a set of 'rules', Georgina obviously took what I was trying to do on board, because she was doodling (or as they call these days, doing 'Random Stuff' and she came up with the words above. Shame she wasn't a few mins earlier as I would have added her words to my 'rules' - but hey she got her own page!

So here are my Rules and I will try to follow them. The facing page is the back of the beeswax experiment, which was a piece of a jigsaw. - click on the picture if you would like to read the rules

Oh .... and you know what I was saying about cards, and not making them. Well I had to make an exception for Mr Bessie on Valentines Day didn't I - but ssshhh don't tell him cos its a complete secret and neither he or Mrs Bessie have a clue it was from me........ you can tell my DH though, cos I gave him exactly what he gave me - zilch, its a mutual agreement. I love him everyday!

ROMANTIC UPDATE!!

I take it all back about my DH and Valentines day...
I have just been brought tea and toast
