It's a bit of an experiment..... anyone remember when the TV programme 'Changing Rooms' was at it's height and they used some stuff called ESP as a primer on the MDF board they used at every opportunity?? Well I found some in the garage and used it on the tin before the paint.. I will leave it to Debs to tell me if it is successful!
Now, I have a top tip for you all.............. when you have clay faces and one friendly plastic face and you take the tin out into the garden to show someone, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT leave it on the window sill on a warm day, cos the FP face will melt! duh!! hence the 'mask' put over the top!!
Mmm... I don't remember that stuff but the tin looks great, and I kind of like the melted face look!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this marvellous bit of old tat Nicks! I love it - the wolverine face on the left is my fave of all.

I have ben saving a few old tins for the right project, must start thinking 'cos this looks great! - John
ReplyDeletewell I'd call that a happy accident because the mask looks great.
ReplyDeleteI went the other way around and melted my face MOULD. I had tried using those Krafty Lady art moulds with friendly plastic, where I would just lay the FP on top and melt it with a heat gun into the mould... worked great.
Then I decided it would be fun to show it to some pals at a local craft club.... but instead of the Krafty Lady mould I took one of those cream coloured Sculpey moulds. I didn't know they weren't heat proof!! I heated the FP into them, it all got horribly stuck, and all of the face shapes warped completely out of shape.
I still like them though, they have the whole Zetti weird thing going on now :)
Anyway - back to the tin! Love the colours, and all of the faces, 'tis super cool.
