I seem to have gone from one extreme to another where colour is concerned, a few months ago everything was brown/gold/copper and now I seem to be using more and more colour. Not a conscious decision, it has just sort of happened! Here are a couple of birthday cards for two special friends. They also fit in the Hels Sunday Stamper Challenge which this week is 'Time'
It is now week 5 of 6, of the 'Upcycling' evening class I have been attending. I'm still loving every moment of it and was pleased to hear last night that Meg and Jess intend to carry it on for at least another 6 weeks. Yeah!! So far we have only dipped our toes in the various techniques taught, so from now on we will hopefully be doing things in more depth. Last nights class was using Water Soluble Fabric, and these few samples were done last night. Basically you sandwich yarns, materials etc (if you can machine stitch it you can use it) between two pieces of water soluble fabric, then machine stitch it together, rinse in in cold water and hey presto you have a beautiful piece. I can see loads of possibilities with this, wall hangings, book covers, curtains, bags, the list is endless! These ones are very 'organic' in that I just allowed the yarn etc to fall where it wanted, but other ladies were much more controlled but we all produced some yummy stuff!
Right off now to do a few chores, so I can have a couple of guilt free creative hours working on this months The Altered Element DT project.... here are a few sneak peeks of my W.I.P!
Excellent work love both the cards and the colour, I go through phases like that too
