It's seems an age since I last blogged anything, 'stuff' going on, family illnesses and new work directions for OH and I, has got in the much crafting. I am in the middle of altering a book, but come to a 'Crafty Block' with it. I am however getting excited about an online altered book course that I have signed up for which starts very soon, got another book ready and waiting for that.
Heidi and I did set an altered art challenge on another forum, to do an Altered Tin, well I have had a free afternoon so I had a go at mine.
A while ago I rusted a tin (and posted it on here somewhere.... told you I would get round to doing something with it one day!) I rusted it by soaking it in a mixture of Bleach and Vinegar, it was very successful, but I have since read, NOT to do this under any circumstances, cos it gives off very nasty fumes........... So be warned!
Anyway here is my entry for the challenge. The 'theme' changed several times during the making, so I have confused even myself, but I like it. It's supposed to be ............. gawd I dunno what it's supposed to be, but the Angel in the light bulb is lighting the............. I'm waffling so will shut up and go to bed!
That is so cool! Great job, thats better than half the stuff you see in Somerset Studio!!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, as always! Love it. Dee x
ReplyDeleteI think it's brilliant, whatever it's supposed to be, always understanding that art isn't 'supposed' to be anything! Love it - rusting is obviously the way to go! Wonder if you could do something similar with distress embossing powders. . .

ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered your blog via Sian's, and hers via another! Your work is so inspirational and I am becoming more and more fascinated with altered art. I am quite new to mixed media - there is a lot to learn and so many new products whose functions and capabilities I'm trying to remember. It's all great fun and I'm doing an altered book at the moment. Love your embossed metal pieces - and the altered tin here. They are all so artistic, you'll have to remove that word 'tat' from your blog title.
