Someday, the altered art you make today will be
old, faded, falling apart, and someone else will salvage the bits and use them
in new altered art. It's the best that any piece of art can hope for

WOYDW - The sight that greeted me today

Photo taken early this morning - oops I think I woke the cat!

Sparkles Cat is looking a bit disgruntled don't you think at being woken by the flash of the camera! - I have to add the Cat bit to his name because some you may know that my best friend is called Sparkles, but some may not know that we also have a cat called Sparkles... before you run away with the idea that I am mad enough to name my cat after BF.. NOTHING to do with me, its a long story but suffice to say it was a BF influencing a rather influential 8 year old who's cat it is..... mmm mute point! We nearly had two cats called Twinkle and Treestump but ended up at the last moment called Sparkles and Gordon.

Anyway back to the desk, as you can see I have had a tidy up - well at least Sparkles had room to lie down this week. ;-j    I am NOT good at clearing away between projects so here we have remnants of previous projects with a sighting of the next project which is a challenge I am joining in with over on DC - altered game pieces, so you can see some trionimoe pieces that have been drilled and now awaiting inspiration!

Just to prove I never throw anything away, I rescued OH's 2009 calendar from the bin to use under my work and protect my cutting mat from paint and ink. Will only last 24 projects, but hey better than throwing it out!

Off to the hospital today with No1 DD, and then off to the hairdressers to - you guessed it to get my haircut so hopefully I will have a play when I get back or this evening when the rest of the family are at pantomime rehearsals....
Will also be having a nosey at everyone else's desk upon my return!

  3. LOVE YOUR DESK BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME AS MINE, FULL OF PROJECTS HALF DONE AND OTHER BITS WAITING TO BE DONE AND SAVED BITS AND BITS THAT MAY COME IN HANDY AND STRIPS OF ODD PAPER TO RUN THROUGH THE SIZZIX, THINGS I'VE GOT OUT OF THEIR BOXES AND NOT PUT BACK AGAIN ETC ETC ETC........
SPARKLES (the cat)LOOKS REALLY COMFORTABLE. WHY IS IT THAT THEY LOVE TO SIT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THINGS... MINE DOES EXACTLY THE SAME EVEN THOUGH HE'S GOT THE CHOICE OF UMPTEEN CHAIRS, CUSHIONS AND BEDS LOL

  7. OK, look it's me again ok? Thought I'd warn you that I'm lurking about, don't want to frighten your family this week like I did last week! So I'm saying nothing about your desk, nope, nada, zip. Like the cat though!

  8. Oh I LOVE your cat - we used to have one just like him (I won't say what his name was though!!) It's good to see you are as industrious as ever Nicks! Look forward to seeing what you do with the game pieces.

  9. Poor Sparkles doesn't look happy! Love the little hand and feet brads . I must confess our christmas tree is sat on the drive waiting for the recycle van to pick it up, I don't think the neighbour is happy he keeps moving it up against our garage, but if it stops him parking uninvited on my drive I don't mind moving it back everytime!! I am a nice neighbour honest!! Pam x

  10. Aww, another puddy cat who likes to watch over proceedings.

Love the way you’ve recycled the calendar. I’m using up an old left over roll of wallpaper at the moment so I don’t get any marks on the backs of the wedding invitations that I’m making.
    I’m such a mucky pup!
