Happy Chooky Birthday!

Not exactly a chicken update today as they aren't terribly happy with me because they have been cooped up -(ha ha cooped up, geddit??) today in their run because we have been out all day.
For my Birthday treat, we went to a local theme park, Pleasurewood Hills - my choice I promise cos I like a good thrill - and at my advancing years you have to take your thrills where you can!
The weather was perfect today, alot cooler than the last few days, with a nice breeze... so much so we had to imagine that he candles on my Carrot Cake Birthday cake were lit!
This was the first time Edward was tall enough to go on the bigger rides, and he loved it!

Georgina, is just like her mum and loves the scary rides, I just love this picture of her, she is looking so grown up!
I think my friends and family have taken note of my new love for Chooks, here is a card which is a print of an original painting of hers. My favourite Girl Ejay is named after her - luckily she has taken that as a compliment!
and this beauty is actually an original painting by Ejay, the captions wont make alot of sense to most of you, but you see there are several ladies on the Docrafts Forum that fight for hugs from the gorgeous Mr S - Mr Bessie to me! -
and look at this gorgeous quilt made by the SIL of my dear friend Fuchsia

and this lovely band of Chooks, from my SIL and partner

ain't I been a lucky girl ??? But I will have to say that (with no disrepect to any of the gorgeous gifts I received)  that the absolute best pressie arrived at 5.30am this morning.. we woke to hear a bit of a commotion going on in the hall, when Matt went to investigate, he saw a small figure trudging down the garden in just his dressing gown and wellies, my eight year old son Edward had decided completely off his own back to get up and let the chickens out, so that mummy could have a lie in on her birthday, he then promptly went back to sleep. Bless his cotton socks, I have to say it brought a tear to my eye, isn't that the best present a mum could receive???

and finally a lovely yellow yolk from the girls!

  6. I want to make sure that as much as possible that everyone else in the group is aware of when you post something for our group so that you will receive visits. We now have 99 participants. That is so great! Because we are so large, it is not possible to visit each and every post that every member puts up; so when you post something related to The Artistic Mother's Art group, I would suggest that you start your title off with "Artistic Mother" to maximize your chances of others from the group paying you a visit. I look at the blog roll for our group every day; and when I see those words, I automatically know that this is a post that I don't want to miss. Please continue to check the blog roll on my blog for Artistic Mother Group related posts on a regular basis so that we can continue to encourage one another in our efforts to do a little something creative each day. Only five show at a time. Just click "Show All" to see all of the blogs.
