Not done much in the way of arty-tatty stuff for a while, and I think young Mags may have guessed I needed a bit of a kick up the crafty bottom cos first of all she decided we needed a trip to HobbyCraft to spend the £50 voucher I won in the HugBinders Raffle - I wanted to buy something that I wouldn't normally buy instead of just bits/pieces or supplies - had no idea what - UNTIL I spied a section devoted to Air Brushes - now of course I needed one of those, why didn't I think of that before???
Had a very quick play with it today - wow what great fun!!
inspired by a canvas made by Sherry that I saw last night whilst having a quick blog hop I thought I would save these test pieces to use as a background on sommat - and what better to use them on than this rickety old frame that Mags presented me with yesterday - it seems if I am to be allowed in her 'in the planning stage' workshop, then I have got to make something to adorn the walls!
So here is the frame - and there are some pages - but I bet you don't recognise either once I have finished!
This new toy is going to have loads of uses!!
And look at what Mags made me as a memento of the day ..
cool eh??
Wow, what a lovely soft look you get from the airbrush. What do you use with it for the ink?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what happens to that lovely old frame!
Charli x
Hi Charli - I have used Adirondack Colour wash inks and watered down acrylic paint - prefer the inks to the paint though - was worried the paints would block the nozzle if i'm not careful, cos can buy special cleaner but its pretty expensive and as I have just started I held of on buying that
ReplyDeleteSo you went back for the gas canister then!!!! lol Can't wait to see the finished piece!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally gobsmacked Nicks that I could inspire you! You've no idea how good that makes me feel :) Your backgrounds are beautiful - you obviously made the right decision on your purchase. Look forward to seeing the finished item.
