On my desk today?? the residue from the soapstone carving I blogged about yesterday.... I am not very good at tidying up behind me, well not until I want to start the next project. I am kicking my heels a bit until the next Andy Skinner course next week.
So I thought I would share a couple of pics of What is In My Garden.. a few more rescue chickens. The last couple of lots we have had have been Ex Battery Hens, and to be honest haven't been in such a bad state as we imagined they might be.. a few feathers missing and a bit on the scrawny side but on the whole not too bad. Sadly all of the girls we had from the first batch 3 years ago have since gone to the great chicken coop in the sky, so we had an empty coop - so we thought we would rescue a few more... We picked some up on Sunday and they have decided that they would all like to sleep in the coop with the other girls... so we still have one empty coop!
These girls were ex Free Range chooks - naively we thought they would be in good condition - not so, they are worse than the previous ex bats ;-(
Confession time, I didn't get round to very many desks last week, but I will try harder this week, I promise!

But with Dickens the Man of the run in charge they will soon perk up like his other wives
After picking up the chooks we braved the rain and met up with Marzie's sister Flo (and auntie Bella) for the first time. Marzie and Flo look so much alike!
and had a splashing time !

ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of picking up my desk after a great round of crafting either. I would say I need a slave boy to do it for me, but he'd probably just leave dirty socks about and eat all the food. Loved the visit with your chicks. Great that they have a new home. Are they actually abused chickens or were they just neglected? She's looking a little rough but with good treatment she'll come 'round soon.
ReplyDeletemore chooks for Marzie to chase lol
