A couple of bits!

It seems an age since I have posted, well to be honest I haven't had anything to post, been busy doing this and that and the other, but my arty mojo seemed to have done a runner for a while. Well two things have forced me to find it again. It seems in a moment of madness in the last school term I promised our head teacher that I would do a workshop with some of the staff. What to do with them?? well i have come up with this 'notebook'. Bit of stamping, alcohol ink, acrylic paints, all the stuff I love! I'll let you know how it goes!

I was also encouraged to get going again after some lovely comments on my blog from
Sarah who was blog hopping and came to visit. She runs UK Art Raffle and I'm hoping she will let me join in. Here is my effort for this months challenge. The Crow (yes it is a crow and don't you dare say it isn't) is my first attempt at lino printing. well not actually my first attempt because i did it at school a few (well OK a lot!) of years ago. I loved it then, so when I saw some lino and some tools in Tindalls - Your Creative Journey sponsors, I had to have some. Unfortunately that was just as I had an op done on my wrist, so I haven't been able to play until now. I quite like him, but it's not really suitable for lino I have decided, and looking at the photo on here, I think the crown needs moving up a bit!
But I just love Crows -in fact I have been called a Crow on more than one occasion, but I take that as a compliment LOL

  1. These are really great, and I LOVE the fact that the crow's crown is low down. It makes it look like it's slipped a bit!

Mmmmm... and that Art Raffle is tempting me.

and it's gorgeous! I have been stuck in a crows and ravens mood for months now....am so glad it's nearly Halloween so I can get some of it out of my system :)

I also bought lino cutting tools and block printing ink one day feeling all inspired. that was maybe a year ago. haven't opened them yet - eek! Add it to the list of things I MUST try (in between soldering and needle felting lol)

I'm really glad you decided to join in, and am pleased it helped jog your mojo.

PS I've sent you your confirmation email - if you haven't got it yet, have a peek in your spam folders as that's where they seem to end up sometimes

  3. Of course he's a crow! He reminds me of that book, Mr Norrel and Jonathan Strange.
