My Name is Nicks and I am a CraftBookaholic....
I buy
I browse
I don't study them properly
This is not a good state of affairs!
I can't resist them... Amazon send me an email of 'suggested titles I may be interested in' and I am there...
I received a couple more today, and the guilt set in! So I have set myself a challenge and I am relying on you to make sure that I keep to it... nag me, cajole me, kick me!
I have beside me a pile of books and I promise that each month I will take one and look at it properly and make a project from it and maybe if anyone is interested give my opinion of the book.
So here goes.
October
Journal Spilling by Diana Trout
Mixed Media Explorations by Beryl Taylor
December-
Bent Bound and Stitched by Giuseppina 'josie' Cirincione
Well that's taken me to the end of the year and I still have months worth! I will put a note in the side bar so I cant get out of it!
They all look very interesting.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea Nicks... you may well set a trend here because you're not alone in your compulsion you know!
ReplyDeleteGood idea Nicks, I think loads if us are guilty of this - I mean, I only look at pics even in magazines!
ReplyDeleteYou have set yourself a very interesting time ahead Nicks! Looking forward to seeing what you have made. Who knows...I may buy even more books hahaha X
ReplyDeleteNicks I can feel your pain LOL. I also receive suggested titles and most of those titles are what they sent for me to have a peek at. Some task but I am sure you will manage maybe you could incorporate your projects for The Altered Element with some from the books. Lynne M x (thank you for your comment on my Blog - that was very kind of you.)

You are too funny Nicks. And what a way to feed your habit. Go get 'em!
ReplyDeleteI just posted about two Paper Mache pieces and how the Steampunk Elementals took them over. I am so going over to Amazon to get the Steampunkery book you posted about. Will see if the others call to me too.
Keep those creative juices flowing...I love your work and ideas.

I'm working my way through the Journal Spilling book- it's got some fabulous techniques in it. Not sure I'm quite up to the full "spilling" experience yet, but it's a really, really good book.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicks, that's all I needed, a list of craft books. Off to put some on my wish list.
