Well it should have been just a few minutes but I soon found out why those cute little alphabet stamps from The Range were so cheap. (99p)... it is because you have to stick all the corresponding tiny letters on the little bits of dowel.. and try to line them up.. what a palaver, but... but... but.... every cloud has a silver lining..........................
Look at the left-over rubber....I was about to throw it away when I realised it would make a fab stamp in its own right!
and it did!
so all I have got to do know is have a little sort through my meager supplies and write it all down!!
(PS.... think you may just notice that I didn't quite line the 't' up properly - just as well I never try to line letters up in a straight line and go for the higgledy piggledy look LOL)
hop over to Julia's blog and have a look at other peoples workdesks, its a revalation!
Interesting work...I envy you ladies doing this timholzean stuff - love it, but can't do it!
ReplyDeleteA fun desk! Thank you for the snoop!

Must get to my nearest Range quick! That makes a fab stamp :) Love the note pad...I've ended up with two bottles of the same colour of alcohol inks because I did not do this! They will last me forever!!! LOL

What a fab idea, was just thinking i wished I'd saved the round bit from mine when I realised that after faffing around with one set the other set is still sealed in the box so may just steal this idea!!!

Ohhh I love the higgledy piggledy look! It's fab! That notebook is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe are off to Ally Pally too. Taking eldest daughter and her BFF, she chose that and an all weekend sleepover as her birthday treat. YAY! I was worried I would have to cancel Ally Pally if she wanted to do something else. *shudder* Hope your son has an amazing birthday too :D
Oooh, see you this weekend then cos I am there too...must make sure we get to meet up :O)) Fab idea keeping that rubber..I would have binned it and never seen the potential! x

ReplyDeleteInspired recycling there ... and I love the "do I need it" notebook, must make one of them for myself!!
ReplyDeleteHa! So likeyou to see the bright side. I too bought the alpha but haven't openend it yet, knowing what I'll have to do! LOVE the notebook..moslty becasue Mrs Sensible got into your head and made you write down the hardest three questions in crafting!!
ReplyDeleteThose leftovers come out great! Will be at Ally Pally (got a long list....) we should all wear WOYWW badges so we recognise one another!!
ReplyDeleteI have a set of alpha pegs too that I had to stick on the little rubber letters.... this was one of the first things I ever bought and my tidy instincts took over and I threw the waste out!! What an idiot!! You're right, it makes a brilliant stamp and that notebook is fabulous, I should do something like that as I dither about in the shops sometimes trying to remember if I have a punch in that size already, or do I have that colour ink in my stash?? But letting me loose at a craft show with a credit card, fatal, absolutely fatal, and I'm usually not an impulsive person at all! Have a fabby day!

Art is never straight !
ReplyDeleteYou are bit wonky yourself anyway LOL
thats a really great note book - and no one else in the world has one like it... how cool is that... and how clever to use the left over rubber as a stamp? would make a lovely flower head actually - well done... good luck at ally pally - enjoy and don't over spend!!!
ReplyDeletePaula x x x
I like the higgledly piggledly look to letters, especially when stamped. I can't believe you thought to save the extra rubber; it does make a fab background stamp. Thanks for making me think outside the packaging.
ReplyDeleteThe stamp is wonderful! I like what you did with your journal..Great.
ReplyDeleteooh i LOVE this - really gorgeous little book. have fun at ally pally, enjoy yourself xx
ReplyDeleteSheer genius ....love it ...who needs a sequin waste stamp now ??
ReplyDeleteI too get super over excited when it comes to ally pally.. so have you filled your book up with MUST haves yet???
ReplyDeleteNow that is organised and what a bargain that fab stamp turned out to be ... gorgeous little notebook too ... of course I will be checking the note book every time I see you ... there will be an audit of your shopping and anything you buy that you don't need shall be confiscated. Can't wait to see you :0)
ReplyDeleteThe sign of a true crafter to find a use for any old bit of rubbish - like that effect though, maybe you should patent that stamp design........ Hope you have a great time at AP, I shall be meeting up with Tish et al on Sunday so will not be joining you all under the palms - please say 'hi' to everyone for me lol. I too have an organised list of things I already have/am looking for, what I really need is to stamp all my little word stamps on to sheets of paper so I know what I've got. Still, I just know the great plan will just fall apart when I get there!! Try and leave us some goodies to buy Nicks.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant love looking every week at what you are up to! Have fun with the bessies and at AP too xx Ive just done the same today - written down what I have that is as I went to afth and didnt know what to buy! Managed a little something or two that cost £30 quid mind you!
