Thank you for keeping the noise down, I am up early today and having a few minutes 'me' time during this half term, so if you wake the kids you will be in trouble. I've been a bit short on 'me' time just recently for loads of reasons, so I am snatching some when I can. It is nearing the time for my 'guest designer' slot on The Artistic Stamper Creative Team site, I have loads of ideas running round my head but I bet when I sit down to start the old mojo will decide to take a holiday!
But my first task is to mount the stamps Jennie has sent me to use (plus a few extra that fell into my basket at Ally Pally), using Jennie's own Kling On Cushioning and that is what I am doing this morning before I get dragged away to do my taxi duties, go to the dreaded weigh in and take no: 1 daughter shopping for her attire to wear to Aunties Wedding.
So here is my desk this morning, a pile of stamps and rubber/foam off-cuts.
Jennie has some gorgeous Christmas stamps, some to suit every style and taste, but I have to say these 'steampunk' ones are the ones I am most excited about playing with (if I ask nicely do you reckon Jennie will bring out a steampunk Angel next year - I just love Angels, as you may have guessed)
Oh Blast the kids have woken up...... see you later!
a PS..... For anyone who read last weeks WOYWW (thank you) and was wondering how the wedding invites turned out, they are now finished and blogged a couple of posts down xx

Wow so wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteMany stamps on it.
The only problem with unmounted stamps is the mounting of them. I hate it. Good luck and I can't wait to see your DT piece - I am sure it will be fab. Love the wedding invites, I went to check them out - such a different idea, really lovely.
ReplyDeleteJust look at all those fabby new stamps, I bet you can't wait to get inking!

Oh I hate all that cutting out the rubber etc, which makes my fingers ache, but there can't be a nicer feeling that having lots of yummy new stamps to play with .....
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, your quiet time didn't last long hun! I love mounting stamps... I usually get a tray and sit and watch TV and do it then... have fun!!
ReplyDeletePity the kids are up cos I was gonna shout WAKE UP KIDS!! Never mind. Lucky you getting all those new stamps to play with, they do look great. Love the "invitations" from the earlier post, so stunning. As to my garden, it's English looking because I'm English!! What else could I make, lol! Michigan gardens are called yards and tend to be landscaped, too much uniformity, not enough pretty flowers and no artistic leanings whatsoever.

Not one of my favourite tasks, mounting rubber stamps onto cushioning - still you had your trusty cuppa to help you along!
ReplyDeleteHope your shopping trip went well and your DD now has a lovely outfit!
Enjoy the rest of half term - it'll soon be over!

ReplyDeleteOoo, I like the baubles one best I think. But I would be too lazy to cut & mount stamps up like that.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your wedding invites - how cool to see bright & bold ones, makes a change from pale & pretty.

Love those stamps from Jennie - look forward to seeing your guest appearance on her blog. Really enjoyed reading your profile - such a great sense of humour - but the last bit I remember. #46

I am in LOVE with that Steampunk Santa. I nearly flipped out when I saw it. Your desk looks really quite neat this week, too. Busy, but organized!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the sweet words you left on my blog. I'm still moving slowly, but trying to start visiting people who visited me. And yes, the basement studio is what I use for assemblage and other large projects. It's fun to be able to move from room to craft room to craft room (grin). Happy very belated WOYWW (# 15).
I have been back and forth to Jennie's over the steampunk stamps, but am too scared. Will wait to see what you show me! And I love the coffee stains and the artist in you...unafraid to splodge. It's a real life skill.!
ReplyDeleteNicks - I feel the same when the kids are on hols - but being teenage boys - I don't have to worry too much - its usually lunch time when they come down - then its only for food - youngest will disappear again, eldest will just sit in front of the tv!!!! Oh well - at least while they're in different rooms they're not arguing!!!
