Andy Skinneresque Steampunk Calendar

I bought a wooden calendar a while ago, it has sat on my desk ever since as I had no idea what to do with it, then I saw the self same one altered by Andy Skinner steampunk style and I knew thats what I wanted to do with it - as it was my mate Fuchsia's birthday coming up, I knew who I wanted to make it for - Fuch is so multi and awesomely talented, its alway scary making something for her!
Now she has received it, I can blog it. I had great fun making this and I love the finished result.

I used distress stains direct onto the wood - these are my new love! Well I do love them but not quite as much as I love my new Octopode stamps.

I used three of the characters and stamped them onto shrink plastic, coloured and then shrunk them - they are quite tiny now! Shrink plastic does have a bit of a mind of its own sometimes, I loved the way that the girls head tilted to one side so I didn't bother to try to correct it.

and as I was inspired by Andy Skinner I had to use a couple of his stamps - again on shrink plastic

and this 'slow/fast' time stamp from Jennie aka The artistic stamper (shrunk again and then I added some glossy accents) was perfect to go on the 'knobs'

then just bits and pieces shoved on the top (which I added )
the keys and cogs were die cuts (Sir Tim's sissix dies)

It was all good fun - Happy Days!
