Fancy a cuppa??

Not from a silver teapot I am afraid - I could have offered you a cup from a bog standard brown one - but you are too late because it is no longer brown.....

Lily who designs the 'The Octopode Factory' stamps issued a blog challenge last friday - how could I resist because I am a huge fan of her images. She started her Ocotpode adventure with 'Alice in Wonerland' so it was fitting that her first challenge on her new Challenge Blog  was to make anything with the theme of Alice.

As the humble teapot is quite prevalent in the story, and I had a very humble teapot taking up room in the cupboard, I decided I just had to alter it - so I did . You didn't have to use Octopode stamps - but as I have a fair few of course I had to use them - I didn't actually have the Alice though so I took a bit of an artistic liberty and used Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz collection instead

Lots of gesso, paint, inktense pastels, inks and mica sprays later, along with some images stamped onto some book pages and coloured with Inktense blocks and here you have my Alice teapot.

'If you dont care for tea, you could at least make polite conversation'

and finally a couple of butterflies.... just because. Because I always add a butterfly if I can

Now looking forward to the next challenge... check it out here http://toffchallenge.blogspot.com/ and join in and have a play. You don't have to use Lily's images, but if you fancy owning some check out here Etsy shop
(I'm not on commission!)

  10. Well crap. I've totally toasted my first challenge - I'm burned to a crisp by your fabulous art! I started looking at the blogs from the bottom up and I'm really really wishing I hadn't dusted yesterday or for the past week for every hour of the day..okay..I didn't really dust yesterday or the day before. I should have then I'd have an excuse for not producing something spectacular like everyone else has.

    Your teapot is great!
