WOYWW - The Day has dawned!

Today is  2nd Anniversary of Julia's brainchild WOYWW - where we share our workspace with the rest of the world! If you have been asleep for the last two years and have no idea what I am rambling about then shame on you! Click here and you will be transported to desks far and wide.

In honour of the day, I have actually tidied up and all that is on my desk is a parcel containing my PIF ready to be posted off to the person who appears on the list below me - hope they like it. If no one adds their name to the Mr Linky after me, I will get the hint LOL

I have also had to clear up under my desk, as these days I have a little friend who likes to sit with mum when she crafts!

Last week I managed to visit everybodys desk and really enjoyed doing so - there is some awesome stuff going on out there! Then I had a thought..........

Apart from just having a nosey, what else do you get out of WOYWW and general blog hopping?

There is always inspiration to be found and loads of tips, last week I read a brilliant tip - and I want to apologize now because I cant remember on who's blog I read it, so I can't give them a big thumbs up. A simple idea which works brilliantly! - I use Gesso alot in my work, esp on Journal pages - I get in a terrible mess with it as often I only need a little and dip my cloth/babywipe in it and pick up far too much which then goes everywhere! This Lady decants hers into an old pump action handwash bottle - you can then pump out as much or as little (just a spot) as you need - If I was a meercat I would say Simples!! if that was your tip, THANK YOU

My next thank you goes to Jennie for her blog post on Sunday and her friend Sarah who shared her technique of using old babywipes. You may remember a while ago I made some flowers using some disposable cloths I use to wipe up inks/paints etc - The cloth was quite substantial (like a J cloth) so it stood up to being cut with a die. I have always thrown baby wipe away because they are not so substantial - aha... not true if you use Sarah's brill idea of sticking the babywipe to some plastic packaging.. check out Jennie's blog for details how to do it, but here are my attempts

cool eh? One side is shiny, one side is dull, take you pick which you like. I used an empty 2ltr Coke bottle which because it is curved you get lovely shaped flowers - I stuck one cloth on the outside a bottle - which gives you the shiny side on the front of the flower and I stuck another cloth on the inside of a bottle which gives you the cloth side on the front of the flower.
THANK YOU JENNIE and SARAH

And one last thing I gleaned from last weeks hopping
a wonderful quote from Julia.....
I love this....

tidying up is for the less busy - julia dunnit

I hope you don't mind if I use this in a future project!!

OMG, I didn't mean to do such a LONG post .... sorry!!
Oh well I will just borrow another of one of Nikki's Blog buttons

Can the person below me on the list please email me your details and I will pop your parcel in the post later today.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY EVERYONE and
ESPECIALLY TO JULIA,
THANK YOU FOR BRIGHTENING OUR WEDNESDAYS

  14. There are a lot of tidy desks out there this week I see. I love the flower idea and want to give it and other methods a go but I feel i have to use up some of my bought flowers before I learn or I will waste what I have already spent.

  20. Thanks for visiting me. You have picked up some great tips on your journey through blog land. Never thought of re-using baby wipes - it always seems a waste throwing them away. I might just get around to using the bottle of Gesso I bought now I don't have to use it all in one go.
    Happy WOYWW -versary

  21. A very happy Anniversary to you too! I just love your flowers, think I might have to try my hand at some of those soon. That parcel looks interesting, what a pity, I am the one before and not after you. Send me your snail mail addie so that your parcel can make its way accross the ocean from South Africa ( It may take a while to get to you, but it will eventually - African time is quite different from anything you have ever experienced, LOL) My e-mail addie is tertiaj at telkomsa dot net
Blogger is having a hissy fit again and won't let me post as me, so I remain anonymous according to mr. Blogger. I have been trying to comment since yesterday, but I give in, I will do it anonymously.
Hugs from a very cold South Africa, Tertia

  26. I'm just catching up wth all the lovely WOYWWer's this week, late I know, blame the glorious weather but boy am I glad I visited you. I laughed out loud at your profile, a woman after my own heart as far as housework is concerned and then I've learnt absolutely loads reading your brilliant tips. A friend of mine decants gesso into an old paint dabber bottle which works brilliantly too and I will definitely be trying out your baby wipe flowers, I hate throwing things away!!
